《Light and Sound》
日本三景の一つ天橋立。
砂嘴という独特の地形が太古の昔から人々のロマンを刺激し、
数々の伝説に彩られた神秘的なストーリーを創り出してきました。
その天橋立の砂浜を、 音風景から立ち上がる質感/静謐を軸に
制作活動を行なっている原摩利彦、
光の環境をデザインする照明デザイナー長町志穂による
音と光の演出で幻想的な世界を届けます。
For centuries, Amanohashidate has been known
as one of the “Three Most Scenic Views of Japan.”
The uniqueness of the sand spit has inspired human beings
since ancient times, and is the subject of many mythical stories.
On this special occasion, sound artist Marihiko Hara who works
on the texture / the silence of the soundscape,
and lighting designer Shiho Nagamachi who creates
the lights arrangement in the environments,
will turn the Amanohashidate beach
into a dream-like atmosphere of sound and light.

《Exhibition and Live Performance》
日本三景の一つ天橋立エリアを、「太古から未来へと続くみち」のテーマの下、
光や映像、サウンドを用いたデジタルアートによる幻想的な世界に演出します。
日本の国生み神話の故郷でもある天橋立は、
その成り立ちの伝説の中で、光がとても重要な役割を果たしています。
二柱の神様が「智恵」の力であらうみを鎮め、
生まれた島（天橋立）に天人が下りて火を置き、
その火明かりに導かれるように土地が平和になった、という伝説は、
天橋立の地に「光」が希望の象徴として、
目には見えないけれども
存在していることの証といえます。
「太古から未来へと続くみち」という、
目には見えない「みち」のイメージを、
天橋立の聖地、元伊勢籠神社参道に、
世界で活躍するメディア・アーティスト、
梅田宏明とNONOTAKが「光のみち」・「光の海」を現出させます。
また、境内の神門から参道を舞台に展示インスタレーション作品を用いた、
NONOTAK によるライブパフォーマンスとmoshimossによる叙情的で追憶にふけるような
サウンドスケープにて、次々と折り重なる深淵のアンビエンスを拡げます。
On this occasion, Amanohashidate, which is one of the three most scenic spots of Japan,
will be transformed into a dream-like atmosphere with light, video projection,
and sound-based digital art on the theme of “The way goes from ancient to the future.”
According to legend, Amanohashidate is the place where the country of Japan was born.
In the legend, light plays an important role. The legend tells of a time when two gods used
the tool of “wisdom” to calm the rough oceans, and here the island of Amanohashidate appeared.
The spirits came down and put fire on the island, and the land gained peace led by the light.
This story indicates that the “light” of Amanohashidate exists as a symbol of hope,
even though it is not visible to us.
The internationally known media artists Hiroaki Umeda and NONOTAK will
“take the way from ancient to the future” which represents the image of the
“invisible path” as their inspiration.
They will create artworks called “The Light Path” and “The Sea of the Lights”
at the approach to Motoise Kono Shrine, which is known as the sacred
place of Amanohashidate. The Motoise Kono Shrine is the highest-ranked shrines
of the old Tango area. The approach to the shrine and the gate will be used
as a stage for the two artists. NONOTAK will perform a special live program
with the art installation, while Moshimoss will create a layered
atmosphere through lyrical and nostalgic soundscapes.

梅田 宏明 / インスタレーション
2002年より自身の振付作品がパリ・シャイヨー国立劇場など世界各地に招聘され、
これまでの公演先は世界40ヵ国／150都市以上に上る。
作品では振付、ダンスだけでなくサウンド・映像・照明デザインも手がけ、
テクノロジーアートや音楽の分野などでも多く上演されている。
身体的感覚にフォーカスしたインスタレーションも制作しており、
映像作品は2018年、21_21 DESIGN SIGHTの
「AUDIO ARCHITECTURE展」で展示されたほか、ダンス作品を元に
制作されたドーム型映像作品はドイツのFulldomeFestivalで受賞、
その他世界のフェスティバルで上映されている。

Hiroaki Umeda / Installation

Since 2002, Hiroaki Umeda's choreographic works have been invited around the world including Chaillot National Theater in Paris, with performances in over 150 cities in 40 countries. His works go beyond dance and choreography, encompassing sound, video and lighting design. The works have been performed not only in the field of dance, but also of technology and electronic music around the world including MUTEK Montreal.
In recent years, he also creates visual installations focusing on physical sensation. In 2018 his video installation was presented at 21_21 DESIGH SIGHT's exhibition “AUDIO ARCHITECTURE”. Fulldome installation «Intensional Particle Dome Installation» has also been presented in festivals around the world, and received awards at Fulldome Festival in Germany and Macon Film Festival in the US.

NONOTAK / インスタレーション & ライブパフォーマンス
イラストレーターの Noemi Schipferと建築家・ミュージシャンの
Takami Nakamotoによるアートユニット。 2011 年パリで結成。
幾何学的な光に音楽をシンクロさせ、没入感のある夢のような環境を
生み出す作品を次々に発表し、結成後すぐにメディアアート界の新星として
世界中から注目を集める。2015年、TATE BRITAINで作品を発表。
日本では、六本木アートナイト2014での展示やMUTEK.JPへの出演、
2017 年、世界遺産「清水寺」にて奉納演奏を行った他、
ニュイ・ブランシュKYOTO 2018 では京都国立近代美術館で
インスタレーションとライブパフォーマンスを行った。
また、作品はインターナショナルなブランドプロモーションに活用される
機会も多く、現在世界で最も勢いのあるメディアアートユニットである。

NONOTAK / Installation & Live performance

NONOTAK studio is the collaboration between the illustrator Noemi Schipfer and the architect musician Takami Nakamoto. Commissioned by the Architect Bigoni-Mortemard to create a mural in the lobby of a public housing building in Paris, NONOTAK was created in late 2011. In early 2013, they start to work on light and sound installations, creating an ethereal, immersive and dreamlike environment meant to envelope the viewer, capitalizing on Takami Nakamoto’s approach of space & sound, and Noemi Schipfer’s experience in kinetic visual. They presented their first audiovisual installation at the Mapping Festival in may 2013. In summer 2013, NONOTAK come up with a performance, LATE SPECULATION, where they are the creators and contents of the project.
Their work have been exhibited at institutions and galleries all over the world.

Moshimoss / ライブパフォーマンス
Kosuke Anamizu名義でドイツのTraum Schallplattenや
mule electronicからミニマルハウス・ダブ等の作品をリリース後、
moshimossとしての活動をスタートし、深く儚いサウンドスケープ作品を
ワールドワイドにリリース。
精力的なライブ活動はしないが、過去には、Fuji Rock Festival、
EMAF TOKYO、Natural High 2015などのフェスにも出演。

《Special Event》Work of Seiichi Saito | Rhizomatiks Architecture
日本三景の一つ天橋立エリアを、「太古から未来へと続くみち」のテーマの下、
光や映像、 サウンドを用いたデジタルアートによる幻想的な世界に演出します。
11月9日(土)・10日(日) は成相寺の紅葉ライトアップに合わせ、
ライゾマティクス・アーキテクチャーのクリエイティブ ディレクターである
齋藤精一の作品シリーズ「JIKU」によるスペシャル演出を行います。
作品シリーズ「JIKU」は場所に隠された軸を探るプロジェクトで、
光や音でその軸線を 表現するサイトスペシフィックな作品です。
#003の舞台は天橋立。両側に存在する成相 寺と智恩寺を結ぶことで、
天橋立の起源を光の作品で表現します。
天橋立には天沼矛で潮をかき混ぜ天浮橋ができたという天地に存在する
イザナギとイザナミのお話や、御伽草子の梵天国に書された中納言と姫君の話など
いくつかの言い伝えがあります。
この作品では天と地、 成相寺と智恩寺の2つの物語を表現すべく、
光で会話とそれぞれ2つの関係を表現します。

will be transformed into a dreamlike atmosphere, with light,
video projection, and sound-based digital art on the theme of
“The way goes from ancient to the future.” On November 9th (Sat)
and November 10th (Sun), together with the maple leaves illumination
at Nariai-ji Temple, the creative director of Rhizomatiks Architecture,
Seiichi SAITO, will unveil his latest artwork in the “JIKU” series.
A site-specific artwork series, “JIKU” explores the hidden axis within
places,
using light and sound to illuminate the invisible. The #003 work
of the series
will take place in Amanohashidate on this occasion.
By connecting Nariai-ji Temple and Chion-ji Temple ̶ located on
opposite sides of Amanohashidate ̶ with light, the artist depicts the origin of
Amanohashidate. There are several Japanese myths in which
Amanohashidate plays an important role. In one story,
Amanohashidate was created by two gods, Izanagi and Izanami,
after stirring the tides with a giant spear called Amenonuhoko.
Another myth called Bonten Koku, from the medieval storybook Otogi Zoshi,
depicts the tale of a councilor and his wife,who is the daughter of Creator.
The artwork will use light to show the relationship
between two elements, such as the sky and the earth, the two stories,
and the Nariai-ji Temple and the Chion-ji Temple.

齋藤 精一/ ライゾマティクス・アーキテクチャー ディレクター
1975年神奈川生まれ。建築デザインをコロンビア大学建築学科(MSAAD) で学び、2000年からNYで活動を開始。
その後ArnellGroupにてクリエイティブ職に携わり、2003年の越後妻有トリエンナーレでアーティストに
選出されたのをきっかけに帰国。その後フリーランスのクリエイターとして活躍後、2006年株式会社ライゾマティクス設立、
2016年より Rhizomatiks Architecture を主宰。
建築で培ったロジカルな思考を基に、アート・コマーシャルの領域で立体・インタラクティブの作品を多数作り続けている。
2015年ミラノエキスポ日本館シアターコンテンツディレクター。
現在、2018-19年グッドデザイン賞審査委員副委員長、2020年ドバイ万博クリエイティブアドバイザー。
Seiichi SAITO/ Rhizomatiks Architecture Director Born in Kanagawa in 1975, Mr. Saito began his career in New York in 2000 after graduating from Columbia University with a Master of Science degree in Advanced Architectural Design (MSAAD). Since then, he has been active in creative work at the ArnellGroup, and returned to Japan upon being selected for the Echigo-Tsumari Art Triennial event. He produces works in the commercial art field which are three- dimensional and interactive while also being based on the firm grounding in logical thought that he cultivated through architecture. Mr. Saito has won numerous international awards since 2009. Launched Rhizomatiks Co.,Ltd. in 2006. Since 2016, he serves as director of Rhizomatiks Architecture. Milan Expo Japan pavilion theatre space director 2015. Vice Chairman of Good Design Award 2018-19. Creative Adviser of 2020 Dubai Expo Japan pavilion.
